A Gift for You on Dad’s Birthday

ImageMy dad would have celebrated his 80th birthday on the 5th, but sadly he passed away on 6th October, last year. This is a painful anniversary, and we have opted for a simple day of ‘normal’, with nothing different happening in our lives.

Now, my dad was a very generous man, especially at the bar, his words were always, ‘the first drink is on me’. Today, I cannot purchase a gift, or buy him a drink, and one of my saddest events in my life is that he passed away without reading my books. He had Alzheimer’s and lost all ability to read when I launched my first book. I know he would have been thrilled I achieved my dream, so, for three days, ‘my first book is on me’.

ImageRipper, My Love, will be free on Amazon, 4th/5th/6th (choose your country via link), and I would love for you to celebrate my father’s birthday by sharing the link with others. If he can’t read it, then I want others to enjoy the experience, (at least, I hope they will).

The Victorian era fascinates me and the best part of writing a novel is often the research. Seeing my books in a Suffolk (UK), library. Over the years I've written short stories in a variety of genres. I've also won a few poetry contests, my first was at the age of twelve, (a poem about the Bangladeshi war). I also won a children's short story competition where the prize was a first-aid box, I was so proud but my husband found it amusing because we owned two pharmacies. My articles have been published in magazines both in the UK and Cyprus. I am also featured in various places on-line. When I am not writing, I enjoy making greetings cards, Cross Stitch, fishing and the company of my little granddaughters.
