London: Authors Meet Up and Other News

I do hope all is well in your world and to say I am back from the summer holidays. I’ve recently returned from a wonderful week away with my little granddaughters and their parents (my middle child is their mummy). It was busy and tiring but oh so much fun!

I was so disappointed to receive news the Festival of Romance had been cancelled. I’ve saved royalties for a year to attend the event in November. For me, it isn’t about selling books, getting noticed by agents etc. it is to meet up with friends old and new. I’ve met folk online and then we’ve had a good old natter at the conference which forms a stronger friendship. So, when the news arrived of the cancelled event I set up a London meet up. After a day or so it was decided to open it up for those who do not write romance or are writers but author support in the form of blog tour organisers.

I look forward to seeing friends and chatting about our achievements over the past year or so, (my time to boast that Maggie’s Child made it into the Amazon top 100 again last month!).

We are keeping it informal and are staying in the Docklands area of London. It will be fun!

I am also looking forward to a break away in Spain with my husband in October. The idea for a novel in that country has been ticking away for some time, so I will see what inspiration comes my way.

Heels and Hearts is nearly ready for publication! In the next few weeks all tweaks should be finished and the book will be out there for the world to see – a scary time for authors.H&H styled

This is my new genre, a romance with a medical twist.

Maggie’s Men Book II of Windtop Farm Series is coming along. My greatest pleasure is finding out about the characters who played major roles in Maggie’s Child but never showed their true colours or gave away their past history.

Seeing my books in a Suffolk (UK), library. Over the years I've written short stories in a variety of genres. I've also won a few poetry contests, my first was at the age of twelve, (a poem about the Bangladeshi war). I also won a children's short story competition where the prize was a first-aid box, I was so proud but my husband found it amusing because we owned two pharmacies. My articles have been published in magazines both in the UK and Cyprus. I am also featured in various places on-line. When I am not writing, I enjoy making greetings cards, Cross Stitch, fishing and the company of my little granddaughters.
