Happy 2016

Wishing you all a Happy 2016, and thank you for your amazing support during 2015. Maggie’s Child entered the top 100 Women’s Historical Fiction listing on Amazon UK, very briefly on the last day of the year. What a way to end it, with a great big smile.

One side of the UK is experiencing dreadful floods and my heart goes out to them. I am blessed this side of the island. My old village in Cyprus is white with snow! We are in a cool to mild spell here, odd weather patterns all over the world. My husband bought me a new lens for my camera for Christmas, and I took this picture of our beach area on New Years Eve. No white stuff, cool but glorious sunshine. Most unusual but most welcome.

Even the bleak area I write about in The Penny Portrait, the home of Elle Buchanan, is steeped in beauty to finish off the year.

I wish you all good things for this year. On a personal note, I am excited as I visit my son in Vancouver in May. Our granddaughter, Seren, starts school this year, and my niece gets married.

New Year Resolution? In 2012 I embarked upon a weight loss programme of my own making in order to lose five stone over five years. I have achieved four and a half off to date, so my target is close and a year earlier than expected. I have a new wardrobe of clothes in sizes I never dreamed of wearing. My health and fitness are good, so I face the future in a positive mood.

Writing projects are having the tinsel brushed off of them and are being given an overhaul. Resting from writing always gives me inspiration and new enthusiasm.

What are your plans for 2016?

Seeing my books in a Suffolk (UK), library. Over the years I've written short stories in a variety of genres. I've also won a few poetry contests, my first was at the age of twelve, (a poem about the Bangladeshi war). I also won a children's short story competition where the prize was a first-aid box, I was so proud but my husband found it amusing because we owned two pharmacies. My articles have been published in magazines both in the UK and Cyprus. I am also featured in various places on-line. When I am not writing, I enjoy making greetings cards, Cross Stitch, fishing and the company of my little granddaughters.
