Welcome, Donna.

What is your genre? Why did you choose it?
I write Mystery/Suspense novels. Because it’s like putting together a puzzle.

DLL-POSTER徐静蕾竖PathDo you work on more than one manuscript at a time?
Yes, lately I have been working on a novel and a novella for young adults.

Do you work with a writing/critique group?
NO, I write until I feel the story is complete and then send it to my editor.

Can you remember your first reading book?
I read and loved FOX AND THE HOUND when I was growing up.

Do you nibble on snacks while writing? If so, what is your chosen treat?
I love carrot sticks, or I chew a lot of gum.

Tidy desk or a bombsite? Describe your writing area with us.
I am what they call an organized freak. I have file bins where I complete ideas and work in progress.

Are you published in the traditional manner or self published? Share your journey.
As much as I would love to be published in the Traditional world, I decided to self-publish because I didn’t want to wait years for my book to be available for readers. I started writing Children’s books in 2004, which I’ve written and published seven. Then started writing novels in 2009, and have written and published four novels and one novella.

Who would you say have been the three most influential authors in your reading/writing life?

Stephen King, Kristen Hannah, and Nicholas Sparks

What advice would you like to share with other writers/authors with regard to preparing a manuscript?
Write as much as you can, but most of all love what you do. Put all your heart into wha you’re writing and make it the very best that you can.

If the movie rights to your novels are purchased, who would you like to play your main characters?
In NOT FORGOTTEN – Sandra Bullock as Deanna and Gilles Marini as Brice

DLL-POSTER徐静蕾竖PathA novella about a boy named Mick and his struggles with life. His parent’s divorce and a friend’s suicide make his world unbearable. Each “cut” has a deeper meaning. A cry for help.

I spin my dad’s Ruger SP101 revolver on the wood floor of my bedroom. Sometimes, just to see what it feels like, I place the tip of the gun against my temple, but I never once pull the trigger. NO!”

I’m more into the slice of the blade against my skin and the blood running down my arm.”

It relieves so much pressure.”

And I can breathe again…”
