End of 2017

Gracious, was it really July when I last posted?! So many things have happened since then, it will take another five months to list them, so here are the important bits of my posting.

  1. Due to big changes within my writing life, I am dedicating more time to writing novels than blogging. This blog will continue on the hit & miss basis you are all used to over the past year. However, it is with sadness, but need, that I finish working my beloved, The Virtual Bookcase. As you all know, this was set up by myself and my mentor, Jan Harper, who sadly passed away before the blog really got going, and the day I wrote The End of Ripper, My Love. So, it is a painful decision, but I am proud of how many authors and books I have promoted over those years. Six-hundred plus! I do have a newsletter to be created on a more regular basis. It will there I’ll post news etc. Restructuring my writing life is as busy as the writing itself! If you’d like to keep in touch rather than wait for my blog posts, I do have a FACEBOOK author page – FACEBOOK.
  2. My Granddaughter, Seren, age six, was made Writer of the Month during the summer. We were so proud of her. She’s an incredible young lady and has been diagnosed with Autism. Boy, does she overcome some of her obstacles with the fierceness of a warrior queen, I admire her courage and she teaches me so many lessons in life, even at her tender age.
  3.  I turned 60 this Halloween and spent it in Canada, visiting my son and daughter -in-law. Halloween Trick or Treat night is a bit different over there than in the UK, what fun I had!

My English Birthday cake. It has my image as a Zumba dancer, fishing for my books! All my life skills on top of a delicious sponge!

  4. For my birthday (well, six days earlier) I had a GRANDSON for a gift!! Yes, my little Canadian Cub turned out to be a boy, and what a little cracker he is, his name is, Finley. I miss my daily cuddles, but look forward to March when he visits the UK for the first time.

I end 2017, with possible exciting changes which I will share when all is confirmed.  I leave you with my very best wishes, my humble thanks for following me and supporting my books. Enjoy whatever end of year celebrations you believe in, and have a fabulous 2018. As I follow Christmas UK style, I wish you all a Very Merry Christmas, and a Happy Healthy New Year!

I live in the UK, in the seaside town of, Dovercourt~Harwich, where I enjoy writing novels. I've written historical romance/suspense, Medical romance and my latest WIP is in the crime genre. The Victorian era fascinates me and the best part of writing a novel is often the research. Seeing my books in a Suffolk (UK), library. Over the years I've written short stories in a variety of genres. I've also won a few poetry contests, my first was at the age of twelve, (a poem about the Bangladeshi war). I also won a children's short story competition where the prize was a first-aid box, I was so proud but my husband found it amusing because we owned two pharmacies. My articles have been published in magazines both in the UK and Cyprus. I am also featured in various places on-line. When I am not writing, I enjoy making greetings cards, Cross Stitch, fishing and the company of my little granddaughters.

  1. You’ve had such exciting family things happening, Glynis! That’s wonderful! I’m happy for all of you. And I give you credit for putting your focus on your writing. That, to me, makes a lot of sense if one wants to finish that novel.
